Kwame Nkrumah led the Gold Coast’s anti-colonial
struggle for independence from Brittain and Robert Sobukwe founded the Pan
Africanist Congress in opposition to the apartheid regime. The apartheid regime
was overthrown 1994. There are still signs of apartheid but it has gotten
better.

The song ‘Buffalo Soldier’ relates to Pan-Africanism because it says that there was an African “Buffalo Soldier stolen from Africa in the heart of America.” The soldier was fighting an arrival and also fighting for survival like Africans were against colonialism. That soldier was Bob Marley himself. they wanted freedom and to be aloud to do what they want. this song is about the freedom. This line is personally one of my favourites. I have been listening to his music for ages and this is easily his best song. All his songs have an inner meaning.
